Help Rubitek in their bid for funding

December 6th 2018

New HIC residents Rubitek Solutions have made a submission to the FedEx Small Business Grant UK, and they need your help.

The final 10 contestants for the grant will be chosen next week. To give Rubitek the best chance of reaching the next stage, visit their page on the grant site, then share it on social media using the links at the bottom of
the page.

Why we should help

Rubitek has developed a free app – Rubitek Core – to help apprentices build a record of their learning and progress. They can then use this as evidence of their skills when applying for jobs.

This grant will give Rubitek funds to develop the app further, allowing customisation and translation of the software. The improvements will include algorithms to identify changes in apprentice behaviour that might show they are becoming disengaged from their apprenticeship. Employers can then find ways to keep them on track.

Why the app is needed

The app will help with development and retention, which can be a real problem. Around 60 per cent of apprentices fail to complete their apprenticeships, with most leaving in the first 12 months.

Chief Executive Kerry Linley (right) says: “Rubitek Core is for employers who are serious about delivering quality apprenticeship programmes. It is intuitive, accessible and affordable, guiding users through a best practice approach to employing, deploying, managing and supporting apprentices. The software is the first in a series of flexible and scalable solutions designed to put employers of all sizes and their apprentices in the driving seat.”

Harborough Innovation Centre is owned and supported by Harborough District Council (HDC). As the building owner HDC also funds the Centre’s business support provision, providing the basis for expert business advice, mentoring and workshops.
