Why we should help
Rubitek has developed a free app – Rubitek Core – to help apprentices build a record of their learning and progress. They can then use this as evidence of their skills when applying for jobs.
This grant will give Rubitek funds to develop the app further, allowing customisation and translation of the software. The improvements will include algorithms to identify changes in apprentice behaviour that might show they are becoming disengaged from their apprenticeship. Employers can then find ways to keep them on track.
Why the app is needed
The app will help with development and retention, which can be a real problem. Around 60 per cent of apprentices fail to complete their apprenticeships, with most leaving in the first 12 months.
Chief Executive Kerry Linley (right) says: “Rubitek Core is for employers who are serious about delivering quality apprenticeship programmes. It is intuitive, accessible and affordable, guiding users through a best practice approach to employing, deploying, managing and supporting apprentices. The software is the first in a series of flexible and scalable solutions designed to put employers of all sizes and their apprentices in the driving seat.”
